COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD
CommonWealth Kitchen
CommonWealth Kitchen uses the power of inclusive entrepreneurship to transform the food economy through supporting predominantly BIPOC and women-owned business leaders and enterprises in sharing their passion, talent, and love for their craft. Since their founding in 2009, they’ve helped to launch more than 150 diverse food businesses, creating over 500 new permanent jobs, and generating over $65 million annually in combined gross revenue.
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD
Dirty Deeds Project
“Dirty Deeds Project” is a collaboration researching and exposing racial covenants in housing in the North Shore of Massachusetts. While no longer legally enforceable, raising awareness of the existence of these segregationist policies is important to understanding the effect they have on current zoning laws that influence where people live to this day.
